Warren and Lisha Moore

General Managers

The lodge is managed by husband and wife team, Warren and Lisha Moore. Warren started his career at Kings Camp in 1995 as a ranger, taking over the management in 1998 – the same year that he and Lisha were married. Lisha left her career as a flight attendant with South African Airways to start working at the lodge in 1996.

For the past 21 years, they have nurtured and run Kings Camp Kruger National Park as if it was their own. They are the proud parents of two children, Cathan and Sveva, and together they live their dream in the middle of the African bush.

HAYLEY COOPER & GRANT MURPHY

Assistant General Managers

Hayley Cooper joined our ranks in the second half of 2014 as our Assistant General Manager. Hayley originates from Surrey, near London, where she worked in the hospitality industry. In 2004, Hayley visited Africa on holiday and immediately fell in love with the bush. In 2009, she made the permanent move to South Africa and immediately set out to study field guiding. Hayley was employed at another lodge in the Timbavati, where she worked for two years before joining us here at Kings Camp Kruger National Park. Her outgoing, caring and professional qualities have added strength to our team.

Grant was born and raised in Johannesburg where he completed his PGA apprenticeship after high school. After studying marketing and management, he spent a number of years travelling through the U.S. and Europe. On his return to South Africa, Grant became a professional field guide and attained his FGASA qualifications. He started guiding in the Timbavati in 2009 and joined our ranks as an Assistant General Manager in 2014. Grant’s passion for wildlife and excellent people skills have made him an invaluable asset to the Kings Camp team.

Angenitha van Hoving

Reservations Manager

For the past ten years, Angenitha has been a proud member of the Kings Camp and Seasons in Africa team. As Reservations Manager for Kings Camp, she has assisted many people in planning their dream holidays in the South African wilderness. She takes pleasure in being involved in people’s experiences in Africa and taking care of the finest details to ensure a seamless trip. Angenitha has been involved in travel for the past 20 years; she is passionate about tourism and being part of a team that proudly welcomes guests to the Seasons in Africa properties. 

PATIENCE NGOMANE

Front Office Receptionist

Our Front Office Receptionist, Patience is the first face most people see upon arrival at Kings Camp. Her warm smile welcomes you to Kings Camp. Patience joined the lodge in 2004 and is always on hand in the reception and curio shop to assist our guests.

GARETH JARVIS

Executive Chef

Executive Chef Gareth studied at International Hotel School and has a range of experience, from fine dining to food styling for international movies. He has worked for restaurants in major South African cities, helping with menu design, as he has a very creative mind when it comes to cooking. Although born and raised in Johannesburg, Gareth loves the bush and heads out on drives whenever he has the chance. His role at Kings Camp is Executive Chef and his passion and experience shines through in all of his dishes when delivering incredible cuisine

HENNELIE Esterhuizen

Head Spa Therapist

Head Spa Therapist, Hennelie grew up in our local town of Hoedspruit, less than an hour away from Kings Camp. Hennelie started her career in the hospitality industry at just 18 years old. After completing her training in Johannesburg, Hennelie heeding a calling for the bush and her position at Kings as our Head Spa Therapist. Hennelie offers fantastic treatments in the tranquil spa rooms at Kings Camp

PATRICIA MOKOENA

Spa Therapist

Our Spa Therapist, Patricia, is a warm and friendly presence at Kings Camp. She was raised not far from the Timbavati, in the local town of Bushbuck Ridge, and is a beacon of happiness around camp. After finishing high school, Patricia worked as a hairdresser in Hoedspruit, where she was encouraged to reach for her dreams.

Sponsored by the amazing people she met in Hoedspruit, Patricia headed to Pretoria to study at the Indigo Spa Academy for two and a half years. Following her studies, Patricia, together with her sponsors, started the first real African spa in the town of Acornhoek. Patricia joined our team at Kings Camp Kruger National Park initially as a relief therapist but is now our full time massage and beauty therapist at the Kings Camp Spa.

MIRRIAM MKHATSHWA

Head Housekeeper

Mirriam is not only our head of housekeeping but also the “Mamma” of the lodge. She has been with us since 1996 and exudes a warm, motherly presence to all those she meets. She is incredibly meticulous in her work and cares for each suite in the lodge as if it was her own home.

MAGGY MAGONGO & SHIRLEY Mashele

Head of Bar & Assistant Head of Bar

Maggy (left) is a long serving and dedicated member of our team, having started at Kings Camp in 1998. Maggy looks after the bar service and will always be nearby to ensure that you have a cold and refreshing beverage in your hand.

Shirley (right) was born and raised in the local village of Acornhoek. She started her hospitality career in the Kruger National Park as a waitress, and joined Kings Camp in 2009 in the same position. Within a year she moved across to work in the bar where she is now the Assistant Head of Bar. She met her husband here at the lodge (Guide, Remember Mashele). She has a warm smile and is loved by guests and staff.

LIZ BROWN & MONIQUE MOORE

Waterbuck Villa Hosts

Liz (left) was born and raised in Zimbabwe. She used to holiday in the Hwange National Park which is where her love of the bush began. Liz discovered her passion for the hospitality industry helping her aunt who managed a small inn. She moved between the UK and South Africa for a number of years, before following her heart to return to the bush. Liz is our Waterbuck Villa Host, looking after groups and families who come to discover Africa for themselves.

Monique (right) grew up in the Free State in South Africa. She found her love for the hospitality industry working in the USA. She gained experience in a number of different departments in country clubs and 5 Star Hotels in Florida, Rhode Island, and New York. She moved back to South Africa last year and is now employed at Kings Camp as an ‘all-rounder’ at the lodge. She is also our stand-in Waterbuck Villa Host.

Life changing experience

A friend and I just returned from a 4 day stay at Kings Camp. I read so many posts so my expectations were very high and they were exceeded. It truly was amazing from every point of view. The accommodations were beautiful, the staff warm and friendly, the food delicious. It truly is like being part of a family and I didn’t want to leave and looking forward to coming back.
