Great game viewing

By Patrick O’Brien on November 1, 2008

Colbert and I drove a group of 12 guests for 2 nights.

During the groups 2 days stay at the lodge we managed to see all the members of the big five. However the first drive was fantastic as every sighting was within our reach.
From the herd of elephants drinking at the camps waterhole to a rhino mud wallowing, Rockfig Jnr leopardess with a steenbuck kill and finally the Timbavati male lions drinking at a nearby waterhole.

The guests were thrilled at the number and quality of sightings we had that day.

Colbert managed to be at the right spot every time and I captured these images of the animals close to his vehicle.

  1. The rhino pic is great . . . although Colbert being on the brochure could hinder future guest relations (joking!).

    Cheers,

  2. The Rhino wallowing in the mud is unusual. What an incredible sighting. Your guests were very fortunate to see so many animals on their game drives. Now you have set a very high bar for my return trip.
