Maganjane…How sad that you are gone!

By Kings Camp Team on May 20, 2009

What a beauty you were….

I am so grateful that I was fortunate enough to have seen you! I will never forget the thrill of seeing you walk down the middle of the dry river bed, coming closer and closer, not paying the least bit of attention to us. You were so close I could have touched you! A magnificent leopard you were and will be missed by so many. A great loss indeed.

  1. I have a lump in my throat as i read your posting. It is going to take a while for the pain to subside. Thank you for sharing your beautiful pictures with us.

  2. Pat, I agree with you…his spirit will survive in Timbavati forever! I still feel such a sadness when I look at his photos that I took and think about him. Strange that he had and still does have such an affect on me. My heart goes out to the ranger who had to shoot him. I can’t imagine how badly he felt and still does for having to do it. It can’t be easy for him.
