Looking for a bush getaway near Johannesburg? There’s nowhere better to escape the city and slow down to the pace of nature than the Greater Kruger Area. Kings Camp is situated in a private reserve on the boundary of Kruger Park, offering the perfect post-covid getaway in the heart of the bush.

Here’s why Kings Camp is the perfect post-covid escape.

1. A highly exclusive camp

Kings Camp is made up by just 6 Luxury Suites and 1 Family Suite ensuring a highly exclusive, small number of guests in camp at any time. Each has its own private verandah and plunge pool – the perfect place to relax and cool off between activities on safari.

2. Far from any crowds

Situated within the private Timbavati Nature Reserve, Kings Camp is located about 450 km north-east of Johannesburg – roughly 6 hours’ drive from the CBD. Being in a private reserve, we receive a limited numbers of visitors compared to the national park.

3. Lots of wide open spaces

The Timbavati Nature Reserve covers 53,392 hectares, forming part of the Greater Kruger Park. Game drives traverse over 100 km² offering plenty of space for guests to get out and enjoy the wild.

4. Strict covid protocols

At the lodge, prevention methods have been put in place to ensure our guests and staff are safe. These include social distancing, hand sanitisers, masks in public areas, game drives limited to 6 per vehicle, dining tables spaced 2m apart etc.
