Rangers Report for October 2014

Welcome back bush lovers to another report by the guides of Kings Camp. This month I would like to try something a little different since the bush is changing with the little bit of rain we have had so far, I thought I would try a pictoral rangers report this month.

Here the same young male had stolen a buffalo carcass from a clan of hyena.

This is the young male lion that we were seeing on a constant basis, He had a limp to his left back leg but that seemed to wear off throughout the month.

This was a new leopard for me the Zebanine female who killed an impala close to the airstrip

The Ntsongwaan male has really started to become an awesome leopard with his ability to prvide us with numerous sightings this month. he also made a few appearances in the camp delighting the guests

With all the river beds being dry the elephants would dig in the sand to drink the now filtered clean water

The herds of elephants were providing regular appearances at the lodge waterhole and the babies were as cute as ever

A yawning hippo always puts a smile on the guests face. They are able to open their mouths wide enough for the average 4 year old child to stand in the mouth

With the onset of summer the reptiles have been making more and more appearences. This male tree agama was too good a photo opportunity to pass up

A clan of hyenas cleaning up a buffalo carcass, with hungry vulture looking on. The buffalo was killed inside JayDee camp by a groups of lions from the north

The wild dog pack is still doing very well and 3 of the 5 pups are still alive and making regular appearances
