Spotlight: The New Dining Spaces at Kings

By Kings Camp Team on August 12, 2025

Beautiful new spaces where guests can savour every bite

At Kings Camp, dining has always been about more than just the food – it’s about creating moments that stay with you long after your safari is over. This year’s refurbishment has transformed our dining spaces into even more inviting, elegant, and memorable settings, where the flavours of the Timbavati meet warm hospitality and breathtaking views.

Here’s a closer look at the beautiful new spaces.

The Dining Room | Elevated Bush Dining Indoors

Step inside our newly refurbished Dining Room and you’ll immediately feel the difference. Designed to be sophisticated yet welcoming, it’s the perfect setting for enjoying our chef’s carefully crafted menus.

Ducted air-conditioning ensures comfort on warm summer days, while soft background music sets a relaxed tone. On cooler winter evenings, the glow of the new fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere that invites you to linger over dessert or a nightcap.

And for wine lovers – our newly added, meticulously curated wine cellar offers a handpicked selection of South Africa’s finest vintages, perfect for pairing with your meal or discovering something new.

The Dining Terrace | A Front Row Seat to the Bush

For many guests, the magic of dining at Kings Camp is found outdoors – and our expanded, fully weatherproof Dining Terrace is now better than ever. With sweeping views over the waterhole, it’s not just a place to eat, but a place to connect with the wilderness.

Picture breakfasts in the gentle morning light, with the sound of bird calls as your soundtrack. Or long, leisurely lunches where antelope wander past and elephants might join you – at a safe distance – just metres away. The terrace’s new layout and stylish furniture make it a place you’ll want to linger between game drives.

Cocktails & Conversation | Fireside or in the Lounge

After an afternoon game drive, few things compare to sipping a perfectly mixed cocktail as the sun sets over the Timbavati. Our newly designed firepit area is the perfect spot for this – a warm, inviting place where guests gather under the stars, sharing stories of the day’s sightings.

If the weather turns cooler or a summer storm rolls in, our elegantly refurbished lounge and bar area offers a cosy indoor retreat. Sink into plush seating beside a crackling fire, enjoy your favourite drink from our well-stocked bar, and watch the wilderness unfold through large picture windows.

The Boma | A Timeless Safari Tradition

While our dining spaces have been reimagined, some traditions remain unchanged – and our boma dinners are one of them. An integral part of the Kings Camp experience, boma dining captures the romance and authenticity of the African bush.

Here, under a canopy of stars and surrounded by the flicker of lanterns and an open fire, guests enjoy a feast of local flavours. The crackle of the flames, the distant call of a hyena, and the warm company of fellow travellers make this a truly unforgettable evening. It’s a setting that connects you to the wild in a way no indoor dining ever could.

Come and Experience What’s New

The 2025 refurbishment was about more than updating our look – it was about enhancing every detail of your dining experience. From the tactile textures of the furnishings to the thoughtful layout of each space, every choice was made with your comfort and enjoyment in mind.

Whether it’s your first visit to Kings Camp or your tenth, we invite you to rediscover our reimagined dining spaces. The spirit of the Timbavati is still here – only now, it’s served with even more style, flavour, and unforgettable moments.

Book your stay.
