Marathon with a cause

Timbavati Traverse

With the wildlife, for the wildlife.

The Timbavati Traverse was established in 2021 in the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve with one goal – to make a difference to our endangered wildlife and the communities surrounding the reserve.

The 2023 Timbavati Traverse hosted an ultra-marathon run, a half-marathon walk and a half-marathon run within the beautiful 53 000 hectare reserve. The pristine wilderness is home to the ‘Big Five’ and boasts great sightings of a wide variety of wildlife.

The 2024 Timbavati Traverse will take place on 21 September 2024. For more information on the 2024 event, take a look here.

Runners and walkers will be participating to help protect Timbavati’s wildlife and their guardians and to raise funds to support the Timbavati Foundation which does incredible work for the neighbouring rural communities.

Only 40 running spots and 20 walking spots are available, so make sure to secure your spot before it’s too late. To be a part of this unique experience – enter online here.
